David E. French is a Rule 31 Trained Civil Mediator who began his career in legal services as a family law paralegal in 2005.  Since then, he has focused most of his time working closely with clients and attorneys to resolve highly contested divorce cases and custody disputes.  With almost a decade of experience, he takes pleasure in helping parties develop legal documents related to family law such as parenting plans and marital dissolution agreements.

At a very young age, David himself became product of a split home and navigated through frequent transitions between households and relationships within his blended family.  Now, as a father of two and step-parent of a special needs child, he draws upon his personal and professional experiences to help parties identify the benefits of resolving their disputes through mediation.

When David conducts mediation, disputing parties will have the opportunity to privately voice their specific concerns to an unbiased third party in a comfortable environment.  It is not a counseling session, but rather a “meeting of the minds” where resolution can be fostered and the mediator acts simply as the facilitator of communication.  More than anything, David believes mediation is a process by which parties preserve the right to decide the outcome of their case rather than leaving it at the mercy of the court.  Each party is strongly encouraged to seek legal advice from their own attorney, if they have not already done so, prior to mediation.
